Phebi—pronounced FEE-bee, like the Friends character—has been a leader in the application of AI to research since 2019. Based on the ideas that speaking is the most natural way to communicate and that established behavioral science shows that people’s voices reveal their underlying emotions, we set out to create innovative, voice-driven solutions for market research and customer experience.

Our affordable, easy-to-deploy software reveals, and enables researchers to gain a deep understanding of, what’s in people’s heads and hearts. In quantitative and qualitative research projects, it detects and measures people’s nonconscious emotional responses to generate emotion intelligence—next-level insights into people’s experiences, intentions, wants, and needs.

Because up to 38% of emotion is carried by voice tone alone, the software, which won two well-respected research industry awards for innovation, combines voice tech, trusted behavioral science, AI, and machine learning. It quickly and consistently analyzes both what people say and how they say it to deliver an in-depth understanding of people that traditional sentiment analysis (aka, ‘text analytics’) alone simply can’t.
